Instructions from Keflavík
Aurora Lodge is approximately a 2–2.5-hour drive from Keflavík International Airport. From the airport, follow Route 41 towards Reykjavík, then join Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east towards Selfoss and Hvolsvöllur. From Hvolsvöllur, follow your GPS directions to Aurora Lodge, located near the East Rangá River. We recommend hiring a car for the most convenient journey, allowing you to enjoy Iceland’s beautiful countryside along the way. During winter, always check road and weather conditions before travelling.
Instructions from Reykjavík
Aurora Lodge is approximately a 1.5-hour drive from Reykjavík. From the city, follow Route 1 (the Ring Road) east towards Selfoss, then continue towards Hella and Hvolsvöllur. From Hvolsvöllur, follow your GPS directions to Aurora Lodge, situated near the East Rangá River. Hiring a car is the easiest way to reach the lodge and enjoy the beautiful South Iceland countryside along the way. During winter, we recommend checking road and weather conditions before setting off.
